Beeswax - Cera de Abeja

DESCRIPTION

The origin and production is from honeycombs, by centrifugal process when the material is slightly heated, the residual honey is dissolved in water and separated.  The congealed melt wax is then removed and the process is repeated to purify.  The resulting wax is formed into pastilles.
Used as a consistency in creams, ointments, lipsticks, eye make-up and suppositories.  Beeswax as a covering material is a registered additive in the food industry.  It has some emulsification properties, whereby Pseudo ”water in oil” type emulsions are produced.  When these types of emulsions are applied to the skin, the water evaporates causing a cooling effect and leaving behind the softening and humectancy properties of the beeswax.
With its sweet and earthy aroma, our pure Yellow Beeswax is ideal for candle making or various bath and body recipes. Beeswax is often a key ingredient in balms, salves, butters, lotion bars, and more personal care products.

Candle Maker's Notes:
Beeswax can be very difficult to wick. When, where, and how it was obtained all factor into how it will perform in candles. With so many variables, it's hard to predict which wick size to use. For this reason, it will take a bit more testing to find the best one for your candles. We generally recommend the ECO series for beeswax.

Heat to 185°F (85°C) using a double boiler. Add fragrance or essential oil, remove from heat, and stir for two minutes. Pour at 175°F (79.4°C). Allow candles to cure for two weeks for optimal fragrance throw.
